Marinetraffic

MarineTraffic is a maritime intelligence platform providing ship tracking services. Using crowdsourced Automatic Identification System (AIS) receiver data from coastlines globally, the platform provides real-time vessel tracking, analytics, and shipping data. Launched as an academic project in Greece, the platform was acquired by Kpler in 2023.

Started as a Greek academic project; grew independently before being acquired by commodity analytics firm Kpler.
